The Gulf War and the role of air power in the Gulf War in 1991

Abstract: The Gulf War remains an important event in modern history for various reasons. it can be argued that the Gulf War is significant as it gives the background to the overall recent warfare known as the ‘Iraq War’ . The perceived reasons for invading Kuwait are still disputed amongst researchers and these will be explored later in detail. The most popular reason given for the invasion is Iraq’s allegation that Kuwait was stealing oil and how far this was a significant reason for starting the War, will be examined.
