Outline Biography

Dr. Mohammed Zangana is currently dean of faculty of engineering at Koya University, the former head of chemical engineering department for four years from 2011-2015 and the dean assistant of the faculty of engineering from 2004-2006, this is in addition of being a member of chemical and petroleum engineering department teaching staff since 2004. Dr. Zangana has PhD from Nottingham University on Multiphase Flow for oil and gas production. In addition to the Kurdistan Regional Government and Koya University his research project was part from TMF funded by a number of world's well known oil and gas companies such as; BP Exploration, Chevron, ExxonMobil, Petrobras, PETRONAS, Shell, Statoil and TOTAL. During his Msc study at Baghdad University the Natural Gas was the focus of Dr. Zangana's Research work. His research interest is mainly in the fields of Multiphase Flow, Natural Gas processing, renewable energy and environment. He has awarded a number of international grants for his research projects. Alongside with his research activities Dr.Zanagna has an excellent experience in teaching, the subjects that he has taught over the last 15 years of his academic career at petroleum and chemical engineering departments are Natural Gas Engineering and Fluid Mechanics.  

Dr. Zangana has been the head and member of a number of Committees of developing curriculum for Oil and Gas Private Institutions and Universities at both the Ministry of education and the Ministry of Higher education and Scientific Research, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. He was the Chair of a number of international conferences and workshops for instance EIOGI 2017, the International Conference on environmental impacts of the oil and gas industries: Kurdistan region of Iraq as a case study, the chair of IWGF 2018, the international workshop on gas flares. Dr. Zangana is the Executive Editor of ARO, The International Scientific Journal of Koya University.
