On Thursday 17th December 2020, the Hult Prize competition has been held at the Faculty of Engineering. Three teams of students contributed in this competition. The Hult Prize Foundation transforms how young people envision their own possibilities as leaders of change in the world around them. With a $1,000,000 USD global start-up prize as its anchor activity, the Hult Prize has brought impact-focused programs, events and trainings to over a million students globally, creating a pathway for youth everywhere to take action to build a better world. Moreover, Bestun Omer who is the supervisor of the Hult Prize at Koya University and one of the students of the third stage of Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering Department (DMFE) at the Faculty of Engineering, said that "The Hult Prize Foundation yearly nominates a a challenge topic for computation that the students can contribute in it in small groups (team) i.e. 3 to 4 students. Moreover, for the 2021, the topic title is (Food for Good). The team’s ideas are filtrated by four stages. Today we achieved the 1st stage and the succeed team has achieved the 1st computation here at Koya University. Moreover, the second stage will be achieved in Ankara the capital of Turkey in March 2021. The third stage will be archived in the UK in July and August 2021.The 4th stage (final stage) will be achieved in the USA and the successful team will own $1,000,000 USD global start-up prize and hopefully the Koya University team will be granted this prize.
