My Philosophy in Teaching

I believe that architectural education is an education in creativity. This makes it a very exciting, but unstable platform to teach on, as it makes it hard to distinguish between “good” and “bad” in architecture. However, both my academic and professional experiences taught me that the most  unusual ideas are usually the best ones and I strive to encourage unrestrained thinking both in the classroom and in practice. Bombarded by “unusual” ideas on a daily basis, one needs to be able to see each single project as autonomous and valid, even if it is totally against his/her “taste”. A pedagogue in architecture needs to guide his/her students towards obtaining their goals without imposing any sort of concrete views on how the work should progress, end up or look like. This ability to push students towards exploring their full potential without ever directly influencing their decision-making is the most fascinating part of the practice of architectural education to me and I am striving to master it.
